Did Obama fail his first test of Executive Leadership?.
Incumbent upon any executive is the task of quickly and efficiently recruiting key staff. An important responsibility, the right person will advance and support your goals; the wrong guy will unduly hamper you and pre-occupy your time with damage control.
When I was in the business of making important staff picks, I’d always be mindful that my selection should have as many of these essential traits as possible:
- Must be able to articulate and communicate my vision as if it were his own.
- Must possess common sense and be able to think and act independently on my behalf.
- Must have strengths I lack.
- Must have easily mitigated weaknesses.
- Must share my sense of morals and ethics.
- Must be able to do the job.
To date, Obama has been responsible for but one staff selection; the guy who will be his right hand man. The one person who will work behind the scenes to ensure the success of his presidency and advancement of his political agenda.
You would think that one aspiring to become the President of the United States, might know a little about this basic duty and at least be capable of picking the right guy for Vice President.
Let’s see how his choice is working out so far.
A gaffe about FDR being President in 1929…
A failure to articulate the same vision (energy policy) as Obama..
Not sharing the same ethics and criticizing a political ad Obama had approved..
And my personal favorite, which I recently wrote about, made a rather ridiculous comment about paying higher taxes being patriotic.
My point is simply this: If elected, Obama will have has the daunting task of choosing hundreds of key personnel to work in his administration, including a Cabinet, a White House staff, a plethora of Ambassadors and committee chairs… And what of all those federal judges, and God forbid, even a Supreme Court Judge or two!
Indeed.
An axiom I used to follow when selecting key staff was this: "Surround yourself with excellence, and it will no doubt rub off on you."
Obama’s first choice seems to say, "Surround yourself with buffoonery and it will no doubt rub off on you."
And so I give you Obama’s first executive decision: Joe Biden for Vice President.

Like Rush Limbaugh keeps saying:
“Save Our Biden”
hes going to keep running his mouth, making himself and Barry look like an idiot, and its eventually is going to get them un-voted for.
I know. Biden is certainly the gift that keeps on giving!
