Liberal Do-Gooders!

December 31, 2008 · Filed Under Global Issue · 3 Comments

I despise liberal do-gooders - mindless passion, driven largely by ignorance, but always attempting to enforce their world view upon others.  Its as if no one on the planet is capable of rational thought; its as if we’re all stupid, inconsequential, in desperate need of their wisdom and leadership!  The do-gooder says in soft, condescending tones, "I’m doing this for your own good - you moron".

Sure, we’re accustomed to such dribble from the usual suspects: The Gandhi of Global Warming, Al Gore, the champion of defeat, Harry Reid, and of course, "I’m trying to save the planet," Nancy Pelosi…

Here’s our most recent installment…

Lets see…  attempting to enter a war zone to deliver succor to those poor, downtrodden, largely misunderstood Palestinian  terrorists.

Yes, Cynthia McKinney, the worlds newest liberal do-gooder!   (Nice hair doo by the way).

And its obvious that she knows something we don’t.   Apparently the mere fact that Hamas is lobbing missiles at Israel certainly does not acquit them of being warmongers.  And no doubt had she been successful in delivering aid, Hamas would not have been forced to blow up this kindergarten:

Am I missing something here? p>I don’t know…  Maybe its me.  perhaps I have some affect of genetics that causes me to see a different world view than McKinney; one less complete; one given to ego and conflict.  .

So what’s the good news?

December 30, 2008 · Filed Under Economy · 7 Comments

I know, this one’s going to be a stretch - talking about the good news that might emerge from all this economic doom and gloom.  But here we go:

My top 6 good news predictions.

1.  America will extricate itself from foreign oil.  Whether it be because of price or because of the threat of global warming - an America driven wholly by oil will go the way of the infamous Do-Do.  Good news…  Not only will this improve our import to export ratio, but it will reduce the leverage others are applying to our foreign policy.

2.   As state governments go broke, they will of necessity get out of the social welfare business.  And all those self-serving bureaucrats who thought nothing in the past of using our tax money for their little pet projects - clean needles for addicts, flannel shirts for lesbians, abortions for Pelosi supporters, wellness counseling for serial killers….

History.

Yes, good news…  Everyone will have to stand on their own two feet!

3.  The world wide web is telling us all like it is, in ways we never experienced before.  Auto maker CEOs with private jets, begging for bailout money, union golf courses in multi-million dollar resorts,  corrupt governors attempting to sell congressional seats…

The web plays no favorites, because it is so vast and unorganized that someone, somewhere is scooping that big and embarrassing story - the one someone else is trying to suppress.    Think of the past - three network TV stations and a nationwide syndication of news outlets.  Such as these controlled the conversation, the news, indeed, what we thought was the truth.  No longer.

No longer.

Those outlets are going broke; pushed aside by the shear common sense of the world wide web.

And so whatever unfolds for America and the world - someone somewhere will be reporting its utter truth.   Good news…  At a time when our world seems so plagued with problems, and our political leaders seem so ineffectual - at least we won’t have to rely on biased legacy media to tell us the truth anymore!

4.  Plummeting oil  prices in a downwardly spiraling economy, provide an opportune time to devalue the US dollar.  Sure, this will cause gas prices to rise, but think of the upside:  Burgeoning alternative energy markets will find an easier time competing against oil.  US manufacturing, including automobiles, will be better positioned to export, and overseas outsourcing, particularly to India, will be far less lucrative.  Its the high value of the dollar that makes us importers and not exporters.  Its the high value of the dollar that bolsters overseas economies, while doing little for our own.  Indeed, devaluing the US Dollar is good news.

image 5.    Teacher’s unions will finally destroy Education 1.0, allowing a more competitive and cost effective model to emerge.  Teacher’s Unions and their constituent teachers continue to be so cost prohibitive, and change averse, that parents, and local governments will be forced into alternatives.  Such notions as web-based teaching, non-union private schools and home schooling will become the norm - not public school.  This is good news.  Schooling has become more and more expensive, while student grades have not seen much improvement.

Attend…  The below graphic tells it all.  With an imploding economy, how sustainable is this kind of spending?  (graphic from Rob Patterson’s Blog)

6.  Cheaper housing is as good as it gets.  I found this graphic recently on the American Pundit.   The notion that we’re all at the mall running up our credit cards was dispelled there.  For Americans, our biggest expense has been Housing.  That’s why we’re broke.  No, not from buying flat screen TVs, but from paying our mortgages.  And it was all done by government - the higher prices, the housing boom; they figured out if housing was artificially inflated, we’d all prosper.

Until the money ran out…

And now things are returning to normal.   Housing prices are predicted to bottom out in 2011 though.  We got a ways to go.

And there it is - 6 positive outcomes:    Oil independence; a more self reliant citizenry; better news-reporting, enabled by the Web; a more stable but less valuable dollar; a better education model to teach our next generation to succeed, indeed, to once again make America great;  and finally, home prices that are not artificially inflated.

Or I could be just running through a field of meadow flowers in my chiffon dress again.

And so they ask Israel

I looked around the web, and gee whiz…

Nobody is asking Hamas to stop firing rockets into population areas.

No - its just Israel that should stop defending itself.

And that’s why it never ends - the senseless violence, the suicide bombers, the rockets…

From my armchair, thousands of miles away, it just seems so insane, the way Russia and others enable terrorists by pressuring the victims to capitulate.

Yeah - we should just give them all what they want.  And then we’ll call it peace.

Morons.
