Predictable -  everybody thinks she’s a loose cannon.

Ho hum – standard Democrat dogma

Where’s our outrage!  Aren’t there some things worse than molesting children?!  

Ok, so what doesn’t piss off the enemy?  And why should we care?

And finally, the bastion of personal freedom!  

After all, wasn’t flying those airplanes into the world trade center, just a free speech ploy, reminiscent of Vietnam draft dodgers and bra-burners?

Oh yeah – Muslims want to build a mosque on ground zero – and we’re supposed to be tolerant of their civil rights.

Look.  Some Florida wacko wants to burn Korans and stir up controversy.  But who cares?  How chilling that political leaders are not protecting his free speech rights, but instead, intimidating him!

Thats the real story.  No one is protecting this guy’s rights.  And thats what the most discpicable piece to this.

They’re all cowards of course.

Government cannot stop a mosque from being erected based on citizenry unease.  This is a basic freedom given all Americans…

The builders are Americans, right?

How could we tell against such smoke screens and convoluted spin.

All on purpose of course.

And what if its foreign-built and sponsored?

I think we have every right, indeed, every responsibility to ensure what foreigners introduce on our soil is in our best interest as Americans.

Wiki’s founder, Julian Assange, is both hated and celebrated for publicizing all those secret documents about the war in Afghanisitan.

I’m one of those celebrating.

What’s most telling here, is not the sh*t hole that Afghanistan has turned out to be, but that our elected leaders have hidden this from us.  Sure – the masses are too unstable, to childish, too stupid to be trusted with the unmistakable conclusion that we need to stop prosecuting the senseless and futile war in Afghanistan.

I conjure this image of a 20 year old soldier, dying on a desolate plain; shot through the chest by a well placed AK-47 round.  In his last breathes, he assures himself that he was dying for a worthwhile cause.

The cause of political expediency.

I was brought up in the Vietnam war era…  We had our version of Julian back then - Daniel Elsburg.  Daniel’s version was called the Pentagon papers. The missives said the same thing – politicians were prosecuting an unwinnable war,  enabling the deaths of American soldiers, all for selfish career goals.

Dying for the cause of freedom they called it back then.

Familiar ring?

Politicians always seem to conjur such noble images to hide their machinations behind.

I spent the majority of my adult life in the military.  I am a passionate and heartfelt patriotic American.

And I say this:  Thank you Julian – keep shining the light!

I disagreed with virtually everything Helen ever said.  She was reckless in her classical liberal views, seemed mean-spirited with those whose views she opposed,  and when taken in full context, she conjured a world view that was abhorrent to me.

And her latest:  “Jews should return to Germany and Poland”.

Imagine – “Jews should return to Poland”!

Should all people in the Americas of Spanish or European descent return to Europe?

Should Arizona, New Mexico and California be returned to Mexico?

And so on into Helen’s insanely absurd world.

Yet America died a little with the news of her firing.

We need folks like Helen to spew forth her true beliefs.  We need them all:  Muslim,  Christian, Atheist, Democrat, Republican, Small Business Owner, Union Leader, School Teacher, General; whatever…  We need Helen Thomas, Rush Limbaugh,  Sean Hannity,  Whoopi Goldberg and so forth.  And the ones we need the most, are the ones who espouse the unpopular or politically correct.

Because its in the discourse of all these views that America plots her course.

A columnist got fired for stating a unique point of view…  An opinion that pissed off someone; an opinion that few would agree with.

I’m sorry Helen, but in a furry of sycophantic sanctimony, America threw you under the bus yesterday.

And that harmed us all.
